Envydust is a post-hardcore band from São Paulo, Brazil. Band’s
features are intense vocal melodies sung in Portuguese, astonishing
screams and roars, frantic guitar driven riffs, demolishing bass and
spastic, hard-worked drums. In 2005 they released “Quando Estar Vivo
Não Basta” (When Being Alive is Not Enough), their fist album, with
songs that became anthems over the band’s three years of existence,
causing a huge impact in the scene that was still growing in the city
of São Paulo, Brazil, their hometown. It is fair to say that the album
has helped lots of new bands in the scene finding their own direction.
Envydust released their second album called “UM” (One) in march 2008.
The album comes in digipack format, with a 28-page booklet, but is
sold in Brazil for a popular price, a band’s strategy to continue
selling CDs in an MP3 world. “UM” tells 3 stories, with 4 songs each,
separated by 2 instrumental interludes, summing up to one hour of
musical experience. With an awesome production and showing an
outstanding musical evolution, the album is another barrier breaker in
the band’s career and a new source of inspiration for the new bands in
the scene.
